Hello and welcome to D.K.World-Photography

I'm Dave, the owner of D.K.World-Photography. As a self-taught photographer with over 40 years of experience, my journey began at the age of 11, long before the digital era. Back then, photography meant developing film in a darkroom and hoping for the best.

My inspiration came from Frank Sutcliffe (1853–1941), an English pioneering photographic artist known for his enduring record of life in Whitby, England, during the late Victorian and early 20th centuries. His work documenting the Victorian and Edwardian periods in Whitby earned him the title "pictorial Boswell of Whitby." Without his influence, I might never have pursued photography.

At D.K.World-Photography, our primary focus is landscape photography, capturing the natural beauty around us. We also delve into historical and travel photography, showcasing the world through our lens.

Get to know us

D.K.World-Photography is based in Teesdale, Co Durham, UK, approximately six miles from Barnard Castle. We began our journey in 2012 as Countryside-Photography, focusing on local landscapes. During the COVID-19 pandemic, we took the opportunity to rebrand and became D.K.World-Photography.

Our primary focus is landscape photography across the UK, but we also capture historical sites and travel photography from our adventures in Europe and beyond. Our goal is to present the world through the lens of a camera.

With a degree in Education, I am qualified to teach and lecture in my field. Since the pandemic, we have built a formidable reputation for our services, including beginner photography courses and prints that sell worldwide. We also assist local businesses with their photography needs in updating their websites and social media.

Recently, we have ventured into AI-generated photo art, offering a new dimension to our photography business. These limited edition prints and sets are now available through our online shop. All our photo art is limited to only twelve prints and the mounts are signed and numbered

At D.K.World-Photography, our aim is to provide minimally edited landscape photography that reflects the true beauty of the scene. Unlike heavily edited travel brochure images, our photos are intended to look as if you were there.

You are also welcome to join us for free when we are out on our daily hikes doing photography, we will link our photography trips to a page on this site so you will always know where we are going to be.

To bring photography courses for the beginner to develop ones skills, but to use the camera to create your own stunning pictures, without needing to use autofocus, to make the beginner more confident in using the camera to its full potential and through our book, we have written to help the beginner feel more confident trying new techniques when out with the camera.
