Transparency in My Artwork

At D.K.World-Photography, I believe in being completely open about how my artwork is created.

My work combines traditional photography, conventional editing, AI-assisted editing and, in some collections, fully AI-generated artwork.

AI is not hidden or presented as something it isn't. Where AI has been used, I want my customers to understand how it has been used and what part of the creative process it played.

Three Creative Approaches

Traditional Photography and Editing
Original photographs captured by me and developed using traditional photographic editing techniques.

AI-Assisted Editing
My original photographs are edited traditionally and may then be enhanced or creatively altered using AI tools. The original photograph remains the foundation of the artwork.

AI Creation
Artwork created using generative AI as part of the creative process. These pieces are clearly identified as AI-created digital artwork.

An Example: From Photograph to Artwort

This image began as a photograph I took in the mountains of Russia.

I first converted my original photograph into black and white using traditional editing techniques. I then used AI-assisted editing to selectively introduce colour back into the image.

The wolves, landscape, composition and original photograph are mine. AI was used as an artistic editing tool to reinterpret my original photograph.

Why I Use AI

Technology has always been part of photography. Cameras, lenses, digital editing and software have all changed the way photographers create.

I see AI as another creative tool, one that allows me to explore ideas, styles and possibilities that would sometimes be impossible to achieve through traditional photography alone.

For me, it's not about replacing photography. It's about expanding what I can create by using the many creative tools and technologies now available to artists.

Photography Has Always Evolved

Not so long ago, digital editing was viewed by some photographers as something that took away from the authenticity of photography. Over time, however, editing has become an accepted and important part of modern photography, allowing photographers to enhance, develop and creatively interpret their images.

AI is simply the next step in that evolution. When used responsibly, creatively and transparently, AI can become another valuable tool in the photographer's and artist's creative process.

At D.K.World-Photography, we have embraced AI as a positive addition to our creative process, using it alongside traditional photography and editing to explore new ideas, enhance existing images and create completely new artwork.

The technology may be new, but the desire to create, experiment and tell a visual story is as old as photography itself.

Looking Ahead: AI and Photography Workshops

In 2027, D.K.World-Photography will also be introducing AI & Photography Workshops, giving community groups, photography enthusiasts and anyone interested in creative technology the opportunity to explore how photography and AI can work together.

The workshops will look at the creative possibilities of AI alongside traditional photography, including AI-assisted editing, digital creativity and responsible use of AI tools.

They will be designed to be friendly, accessible and practical, with no previous technical or AI experience required.

I'll share my own experiences, demonstrate how I use AI within my photography and digital artwork, and show how a photograph can be developed into something completely different while still respecting the original creative work.

My aim is not simply to teach people how to use AI, but to help people understand what it can do, where it fits into the creative process, and how to use it responsibly.
