Discover Bishop Auckland
A Historic Town with a creative heart
The Home of D.K.World-Photography
D.K.World-Photography is based in the Bishop Auckland area, with deep ties to the landscapes and creative energy of Teesdale. This region inspires much of my work — from atmospheric photography to Asian-influenced AI art — and fuels my passion for storytelling, heritage, and regeneration.
I’m currently looking for a dedicated space where people can visit, explore my prints, and connect with the stories behind them. Whether you're local or just passing through, I’d love to welcome you into a space that celebrates art, place, and community.
Welcome to Bishop Auckland

There is always something inspiring happening
Auckland Castle
Auckland Castle is the crown jewel of Bishop Auckland’s heritage — a place where history, art, and landscape come together. Today, thanks to extensive restoration by The Auckland Project, visitors can explore its grand Throne Room, the private Chapel of St Peter, and the Long Dining Room, home to a world-renowned series of Zurbarán paintings. Surrounded by formal gardens and the tranquil Deer Park, the castle offers a rich experience for history lovers, art enthusiasts, and families alike. It’s more than a monument — it’s a living space where the past inspires the present.
The Auckland Project
The Auckland Project is at the heart of Bishop Auckland’s cultural transformation. This ambitious initiative is breathing new life into the town by restoring historic landmarks, creating world-class galleries, and investing in community-led regeneration. From the grandeur of Auckland Castle to the thought-provoking Spanish Gallery and Faith Museum, the project invites visitors to explore art, history, and identity in meaningful ways. More than a collection of attractions, The Auckland Project is a movement — reconnecting people with place, and turning Bishop Auckland into a vibrant destination for learning, creativity, and shared heritage.
